Stand upright, spread your feet apart and distribute your body weight evenly.
Take several natural breaths. Then take your waist measurement at the midpoint between the top of the hip bone and bottom of the last rib bone.
Use a stretch‐resistant tape; wrap the tape snugly around your waist (do not constrict); measure keeping the tape level and parallel to the floor.
For accuracy, take the measurement three times and record the average.
